From crusty bruschetta to sharp cheeses, tasty meats to your favorite flaky fishes, balsamic reduction can take any dish to new heights. This three-step recipe is so simple, you’ll never go back to store-bought balsamic reduction again. Simply simmer balsamic vinegar with some brown sugar, and you’ll have your own balsamic reduction in no time.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Add 2 cups of balsamic vinegar and ⅓ cup of brown sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine.
Step 2
Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until the vinegar thickens and is reduced to about a ½ cup. Approximately 20 minutes.
Step 3
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before using.
